You are trying to connect to a server and suddenly your console shows the message 'Couldn't reopen C:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\etmain\pak0.pk3' or similar, depending on your ET-folder.
There seems to be a problem with ET and its main map-file, pak0.pk3. Thus, your first thought is to reinstall ET. This is a possible solution, but first try this one:
- Find out which mod the server you tried to connect to is running. You can do this on the FG-server list if it is an FG-server. The mod is displayed below the ip-adress. If it is a non-FG-server you can find it via Splatterladder. Search for the server and you will also find the module that is running.
Example: FG#3 is running etpub (version is not important) - Now go to your ET-folder. Rename or delete the folder of the module that was running on the particular server.
Example: My et is on D:\Program Files\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory. I deleted the folder 'etpub' - Connect to the server with the particular module. A new module-folder is made in your ET-folder. Your problem should be solved.
Example: Connect to FG#3 and download the files (the latter should go automatically)
Of course, you could reinstall ET, but then you should have to save your ET-key, copy or download all the maps, etc. Imho first try this approach.
